August 13, 2022 LCCA at the Monon Museum & Whistle Stop Restaurant, IN
LCCA members are invited to visit the special event to be held at the Monon Connection Museum and the Whistle Stop restaurant hosted by LCCA Director Patrick Cudzilo.
Located at 10012 US 421 in Monon, Indiana, this is the largest private collection of railroad items open to the public in the United States. This museum holds over 6,500 items including the largest collection of railroad china, a possible bell from the Lincoln funeral train and Mrs. Flagler’s #90 Florida East Coast private rail car, the newest addition to the museum. This is the most beautiful car ever built in the United States. This car includes now extinct hand carved white mahogany wood and Tiffany-stained glass windows. These are just some of the items that are in the collection. There is also a gift shop and a museum seconds room available where you can buy real railroad items, including rare Monon items and china from many railroads. Cash and credit cards are accepted. Also, while you are there, stay for lunch or dinner in the restaurant. The menu includes everything from steaks to salad bar. There is even a children’s menu.

Tours are $18 per adult and pricing is also available for children. Hours of the museum are 11:30-7:00 pm EST Thursday - Sunday. This is a pay your own way event. Each LCCA member that visits will receive a billboard from this special event. Please plan to visit with us on August 13, 2022 for this awesome day trip! Finally, Indiana Beach Amusement Park is about 20 mins south of the railroad museum, so you can spend time at both places. Wear your LCCA gear and come to the Monon Connection Museum on August 13th.
