LCCA Day in Indianapolis – Make-A-Wish Spotlight (July 23, 2014)

The Lionel Collectors Club of America (LCCA) hosted “LCCA Day in Indianapolis” on Wednesday morning, July 23 at the Marriott East Hotel in Indianapolis IN as part of the LCCA’s 44th Annual Convention.  Deputy Mayor Deron Kintner from the city of Indianapolis was on hand to present LCCA President Dennis DeVito with a proclamation statement from the city.  Suzanne Gardner was there representing the local Make-A-Wish foundation.  The real stars of the day were Make-A-Wish children Jacob S. and Tyler T.  Jacob and Tyler were designated the “Honorary Engineers” for the day as they took the LionChief Plus hand held remote control units to start the running of Lionel’s trains on the impressive Lionel toy train operating layout and display.  Both Jacob and Tyler received their very first Lionel train sets as gifts from the LCCA and Lionel.  You should have seen their faces; it truly was a priceless moment.

Thanks go to the local MAW foundation, City of Indianapolis, Lionel but most of all Thank you Jacob, Tyler and their families for attending and participating in this fun and worthwhile event.  Welcome to the club and we hope you continue to enjoy your experience as a LCCA Junior member and the magic of Lionel toy trains.

Best regards,
