Make a Wish declares LCCA Day in Chattanooga - Recap

The Lionel Collectors Club of America (LCCA) along with Make-A-Wish(r) East Tennessee hosted a great "LCCA Day in Chattanooga" Special event on Wednesday, July 17th in the beautiful lobby of the historic Chattanooga Choo Choo Hotel.  As part of the LCCA's 43 Annual Convention being held at the Chattanooga Choo Choo hotel, the LCCA made arrangements with Lionel LLC to bring their massive operating toy train layout and display.  Jett M. age 7 of the local Make-A-Wish East Tennessee organization was designated the "Honorary Engineer" for the day.  Jett started this LCCA Special Event by taking the Lionel's Legacy Hand Held Command Control Unit in his hands, enthusiastically declaring "All Aboard!" and then proceeded to start the running of the Lionel trains on this spectacular Lionel Layout.

Lionel's 8' X 40' layout which was designed and built by TW TrainWorx of Dallas TX demonstrates current Lionel train products in operation as well as several interactive buttons that operate Lionel animated Accessories.  Various levels of modeling skills and scenery techniques are featured in the different areas of this vast layout.  Jett and kids of all ages just loved it!

An ABC Chattanooga Affiliate TV station WTVC-TV channel 9 was there to film this LCCA special event. LCCA President Dennis DeVito and Lionel's J. Don Reece were on hand to give Jett and his family their first Norfolk and Southern Lionel starter train set.  Jett now plans to make his own Lionel layout at home.

Jett also had the opportunity to operate Lionel's new Thomas the Train LionChief remote controlled train set, Lionel/LCCA's FasTrack Modular Railroad layout, LCCA's Mini Layout, and TW TrainWorx's Lionel/LCCA FasTrack Modular Railroad layout.  The pride on Jett's face was priceless when he was operating the Lionel Trains. You could see the excitement and truly feel the Magic of Lionel in these moments.  Thank you Lionel and TW TrainWorx for bringing these layouts for Jett, our conventioneers and guests to enjoy and experience the magic of Lionel trains on a first hand basis.  Kids of all ages were operating the trains on the conventional transformers, Lionel's LionChief Remote controllers, and Lionel's Legacy Command controllers all week long.

Our sincere thanks to Jett, his family, Make-A-Wish East Tennessee organization, Lionel and TW TrainWorx for making "The LCCA Day in Chattanooga" so special and such a great, fun-filled day!

Sincerely,

Al Kolis
