August 4-6, 2017. LCCA attends the National Train Show, Orlando Florida.
LCCA’s hosts at the show will be Kevin Davis, Andy Vasquez, and David Bjorkman. They will present an 18x31' kid-friendly, interactive FasTrack Modular Layout. Each host belongs to a different east coast model railroading club that routinely features FasTrack Modular Layouts at local venues. They are looking forward to sharing their unique experiences and layouts with those visiting the 2017 National Train Show. This multi-club lash-up will consist of modules from: 1) Mohegan-Pequot Model Railroad Club (Groton, CT), 2) Kids Run Trains (Chesapeake, VA) and, 3) Eastern Carolina Railroaders (Greenville, NC). Together, the three clubs will combine 20 straight modules and a complete set of large radius turns.
This layout will feature:
1) A Lionel starter set turned into a stand alone Lionel FasTrack Modular Layout
2) An O72 and O84 loops each consisting of nearly 90 feet of track
a) One of these loops is reserved for LCCA members with LEGACY locomotives.
(LEGACY controls are being supplied for LCCA member usage.)
b) The other loop reserved for Kids to Run Trains in conventional mode. (Bring your child's favorite locomotive and it can run on this layout too.)
3) A 15' long O48 staging area
4) A 9' long O36 loop
This will be the first time that three different Lionel FasTrack Modular Layout Clubs have gathered together to build a combined layout.
There are five ways for LCCA members to get involved in this special event:
- **Get your personally owned modules into this layout (2-4 straight modules slots are available)
- **Learn about the modular design by helping to set-up and break-down this great layout
- **Help operate and supervise the layout.
- Bring your LEGACY, Lion Chief, and/or Lion Chief Plus locomotives and trains to show to ride the rails.
- Stop by and say "hello"! E
