April 11-12, 2015 - LCCA at Children’s Museum in Norfolk, VA (Recap)

The Lionel Collectors Club of America (LCCA) hosted another LCCA Special event in the Norfolk, VA area. The LCCA and the Kids Run Trains (KRT)club had a great, family friendly, fun event at the Children’s Museum of Virginia in Portsmouth, VA on April 11-12. Over 600 people were in attendance and participated in our “LCCA Day at the Children’s Museum of Virginia, featuring Kids Run Trains train layout”. This layout was a big hit with the kids of all ages. This layout is designed to the new Lionel/LCCA FasTrack Modular Railroad standards. This KRT layout is very interactive with a lot of hands on activities. Kids were encouraged to take the Lionel remote controller and run these Lionel trains on this fun layout. You don’t ever hear “don’t touch that” near this layout. Everyone of all ages had fun!

If you have any ideas about hosting a LCCA Special Event in your part of the country, please contact me to discuss your idea. We welcome your ideas and participation in these events. LCCA President Dennis DeVito has established a goal to have direct contact with at least 2600 LCCA members via our Special Events program by the end of July. If there is not an LCCA Special Event currently planned for your area, we need your help by considering to host a LCCA Special Event. I am certain you will have a lot of fun doing it. It is a lot of fun and very gratifying when you help spread the Magic of Lionel Trains and the joys of belonging to the LCCA, The Best Toy Train Club on the Planet!
