January 25th -Wichita Falls, TX LCCA day at Wichita Falls Museum of Art
Lionel Collectors Club of America (LCCA) member Jim Hughes (RM 30326) invites all LCCA members, family and friends to visit his layout display and exhibit “The ART Express: A First Class Ticket to Fun!” located at the Wichita Falls Museum of Art on the campus of Midwestern State University. The layout features 750 sq.ft. of table space with 15 trains running. This display and show open on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays until January 30, 2014. Jim conducts a 45-minute show explaining his collection and layout Installation featuring electric trains in scale settings of towns, mountains, valleys, farm lands, oil fields, all inhabited by people and animals with operating traffic and street lights. Jim Hughes’ amazing collection was launched in December 1941 and has grown each year from the original set given to him by his parents. The Art Express is truly a labor of love and a gift to the community by Jim Hughes, who serves as conductor!
Show Times for The Art Express: Thursday 6 and 7 pm, Friday 6 and 7 pm, Saturday 2, 3, 6 and 7 pm Each show is approximately 45 minutes each. If you need a group reservation larger than 15 you may contact the museum’s office for information. 940-397-8900.
LCCA Day, Saturday, January 25, 2014 - On Saturday January 25, the museum is designating it “LCCA Day” where all LCCA members will receive $1/member off the cost of admission for the 3:00 PM show. Spread the word, invite all of you LCCA members, family and friends to this fun and train filled event. This is a great event for the entire family and kids of all ages.
