LCCA at NLOE Open House Special Event Dec 7, 2013 Long Island NY (recap)
The Lionel Collectors Club of America (LCCA) is proud to be part of the Nassau Lionel Operating Engineers (NLOE) 2013 Open House event held last December 7. The LCCA members, families and friends who attended this event had fun and enjoyed the hospitality they received from the entire NLOE organization. Members came and enjoyed Lionel trains running on the largest operating O-Gauge layout on Long Island
The NLOE’s 80 X 35’ layout with its new animated rocket launch pad was operating for everyone to enjoy. The NLOE also was selling raffle tickets for someone to win a small operating toy train layout. The layout drew a huge crowd of people. People of all ages enjoyed the sights, sounds and smells of the Lionel trains running on this impressive layout.
As part of LCCA President Dennis DeVito’s plan to have direct contact with 2300 members before our 44th annual convention to be held in Indianapolis IN July 21-26, 2014, LCCA members who attended received a special LCCA un-cut sheet of billboard inserts and a Lionel Special Events pin. Several lucky LCCA members also won LCCA door prizes.
I want to thank the entire NLOE organization for their gracious hospitality and inviting our members to attend this fun event. They even let me up in the control tower to run some of the trains. The NLOE group is a great group of family oriented, men, women and children who have a passion for Lionel trains.
For more information about this club, visit their website at
www.nloe.org. Stay tuned for future announcements about the NLOE’s LCCA/Lionel FasTrack Modular Railroad layout. NLOE plans to take their layout to future events.
Thanks again for all of our members who attended and welcome to all of the new members who joined our club during this event. We hope we can do this again with the NLOE! Check back to the Special Events Page at
