Quartered Drivers on General Sets - The Facts

Lionel has confirmed that the 150th anniverary General Sets have been shipped correctly.

"Every general in recent years has un-quartered drivers. It is the direct result of the bellow used for the smoke unit, it is set up in such in a way the side rods will not swing back and forth!"  This direct comment by Mike Reagan - Director of Customer Service at Lionel was a direct answer to the question of General type siderod quartering.

There had been questions that the Generals may have been incorrectly assembled.  As shown, they have been assembled per specification so that the the siderods are un-quartered.  This was done so the smoke function works correctly.
