Texas Tommy Order Date Extended
The previously announced deadline (January 15, 2013) for ordering the Texas Special NW2 Cow and Calf switcher and accompanying Diamond Mint Cars has been extended to January 31. This courtesy may be useful to members adversely affected by super storm Sandy or concerned by a deadline rather close to the Christmas holiday season. HEADS UP – there will be no extension of the January 31 cutoff date.
The three add-on Texas Special matching cars have been announced and are now available for purchase. A $50 discount for these three cars is available to members who purchased the NW2 diesel pair/mint car. Refer to the ad in the December 2012 issue of TLR for details and an order form. Or order these cars online at the club’s website.
About quantities … the number of engine sets available will be limited to:

Based on past experience, LCCA believes orders for the three-car add-on “completer cars” may be less than 650

In anticipation, LCCA has ordered 500 add-on car sets and 150 additional units of the Helicopter on Flat Car from Lionel LLC. The add-on cars may be in high demand because of the limited quantity and potential breakup value.
NOTE: ADD-ON CAR ORDERS WILL BE ACCEPTED ON A “FIRST COME – FIRST SERVED” BASIS. IF YOU ORDERED AN ENGINE/MINT CAR SET BUT SUBMITTED AN ORDER FOR THE ADD-ON CARS AFTER THE 500 UNIT LIMIT FOR ADD-ON CARS WAS REACHED, YOUR ORDER WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
In summary, the Texas Special engine/mint car order date is fast approaching and is expected to be sold out at 650 units. There are only 500 add-on “Completer Car” sets available, and LCCA expects them to be sold out. 150 additional HOFC units will be made. Members who purchased the engine/mint car initial set will receive a $50 reduction of the price of the three add-on cars, which will automatically be implemented by the LCCA Business Office for members who are qualified for it.
