LCCA Day in Norfolk ( Video Recap)
Norfolk, Virginia, Mayor Paul D. Fraim attended the Lionel Collectors Club of America's (LCCA) 42nd Annual convention on Wednesday morning, July 24, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the Norfolk VA Marriott Waterside hotel to be the official "starter" of the Lionel trains layout. This fabulous Lionel train layout was on public display in the Norfolk Ballroom of the hotel. This 65' long Lionel layout and display was designed and built by TW Design of Dallas TX. The public was invited to come see and experience the magic of Lionel trains running on this wonderful layout and cheer the honorable mayor on as he became an engineer for a day. This special event was free and kids of all ages were amazed at the sights and sounds that Lionel has incorporated into their latest model train engines.
Cameron, age 5, of the Virginia Make-A-Wish Foundation (MAW) was invited to be the honorary conductor for this layout opening ceremony. Cameron and his family really enjoyed this event. Lionel donated a train set to Cameron's family for their year round enjoyment. Thank you Lionel, you have a heart of gold!
The LCCA appreciates all of the local public and LCCA members for participating in this fun and entertaining special event. Our sincere thanks go out to Lionel, Mayor Fraim, Cameron and his entire family for being there making this event so special for our LCCA members.
