October 15, 2014 - LCCA Dutch Treat Special Event Dinner (Recap)

The Smokey Bones Restaurant in York PA was overflowing with LCCA members on Wednesday October 11, during the LCCA’s Dutch treat casual dinner. Members and guest had an opportunity to socialize with Lionel President Howard Hitchcock and his team from Lionel. LCCA President Dennis DeVito unveiled the prototype sample of the new LCCA Boston & Maine GP7 engine and dummy unit. more

October 11, 2014 - LCCA’s 45th Anniversary Celebration Dearborn, MI (recap)

On Saturday, October 11, LCCA members gathered at the Park Place Banquet facility in Dearborn MI to start off the year-long celebration of LCCA’s 45th Anniversary year. Former owner of Lionel, Mr. Dick Kugh was the featured guest speaker for the evening. I don’t know how we were able to pull it off, but we were 100% successful in surprising Dick with a surprise birthday cake celebration. more

September 27, 2014 - LCCA Second Annual Lionel Day in Chicago, IL (recap)

Lionel Collectors Club of America (LCCA) Members who attended Chicagoland’s Second Annual Lionel Day on September 27, 2014 had an opportunity to meet and have fun running Lionel trains on Chicagoland’s impressive layout with fellow club members Herb Koch (President of ChicagoLand) and LCCA club President Dennis DeVito. Guests came as far as Milwaukee (Lionel Railroad Club of Milwaukee) and St. Louis (Lionel Railroad Club of St. Louis) to celebrate this day. more

LCCA Special Event Recap - June 14, 2014 – in Conway, AR - BSA Activity

The LCCA had another successful SPECIAL EVENT, a Train Open House Event in Conway, AR, on Saturday (6-14-14), the day immediately before Father's Day. LCCA’s TLR Editor, Mike Mottler worked with local Scoutmaster, Johnny Davidson, to promote this TOH activity to all Scouts -- Cub scouts, Boy Scouts, Explorer Scouts (ages 7 to 21) -- throughout the Quapaw Council in the central AR area. We had a very good turnout! more
