Gallery: Club - Lower Alabama
In "LA" (Lower Alabama), an active group of train hobbyists built a large portable modular O-gauge layout for operation at public events and places in the region: arts & crafts fairs, festivals, mall showings, etc. Several LCCA members are involved with SWARM (South West Alabama Railroad Modelers). These photos show the club's original layout and the new one featuring Lionel's FasTrack. [Photos by George Nelson, except as noted]
These walk around "mobile ads" effectively called attention to the train show at the 15th annual Fairhope (AL) train show held in a local school.
The club was invited to set up its modular layout within the Mobile (AL) Museum of Art during the holiday season of 2006. The easels display train-theme art by Angela Trotta Thomas. [Photo by Bob Hillman]
An important local festival -- Dogwood Days -- is a favored venue for the SWARM layout. High-school-age young ladies in elegant antebellum costumes are selected as Dogwood Trail Court Maids and festival ambassadors. [Photo by Anne Dobbins]"
The latest version of the layout has not yet been scenicked, but that project is "in the works." This new layout features Lionel's FasTrack(TM).
