LCCA Visits Lionel’s New York City Retail Store

On November 1, Lionel’s New York retail store premiered in Manhattan. Located in Rockefeller Center, just across the street from Radio City Music Hall and down the block from the famed Center Ice Skating rink where the giant tree will soon be erected, the store is a perfect addition to the center’s holiday traditions.

The store is only temporary, though, and will remain open through the holiday season for a total of two months. A wide variety of Lionel products is featured inside. In addition to many different sets, the store also offers a variety of Lionel licensed products. Prices start at $3.00 and go up from there. While I was there, two days after the store opened, I couldn’t help noticing how passers-by couldn’t resist stopping as they walked past the store to peek into the window to see the operating trains. The layout is another masterful creation from Roger Farkash’s TW Designs. Lionel’s Tom Nuzzo greeted us as we entered the store.

Lionel hopes to spark interest among the many holiday shoppers and tourists that frequent Rockefeller Center and 5th Avenue to see the holiday decorations. You’ll find the store on 50th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues.

Best wishes and happy holidays!
