From Indy - LCCA Has Another Successful Annual Convention Train Show

The Lionel Collectors Club of America (LCCA) went to the Marriott East Hotel for our 44th Annual Convention held July 20-26, 2014.  Hundreds of LCCA members and their families from all around the country were in Indy for a week of fun with Lionel toy trains, real train excursions, NASCAR, Airplanes and lots of interactive and visually appealing toy train operating layouts.  Members and the general public attended our Free Toy Train Show on Saturday July 26, 2014.  The LCCA was successful and collecting over $300 of donations to benefit the local Riley Hospital For Children.

LCCA members from all around the country were buying, selling and trading toy trains.   People came and saw Lionel’s operating layouts and display, plus other operating Toy Train Layouts.  TW TrainWorx of Dallas TX had their Lionel/LCCA FasTrack Modular RailRoad layout set up and operational Tuesday –Saturday also.  Queen City High Railers (QCHR) from Cincinnati OH had their massive 50’’ X 50’ modular layout open for public viewing on Friday evening July 25 and during the Saturday train show from 9:00 AM -3:00 PM on Saturday July 26.

On Saturday, Chicagoland Club entertained everyone with their family friendly drag race track, where kids of all ages will be able to run their favorite toy train engine and race against each other.  This year, brother and sister, Barbara Koferi and Steve Koferi were the two finalist in the Senior division, with Barbara being declared the winner  as she finished just ahead of her brother by a ½ millionth of a second.  Noah was victorious in the Junior Division Steam competition, while Andrew won the Junior Division Diesel event.

Thank you for attending our train show and all of your generosity!   Your donations will do much good for a worthwhile and charitable organization, Riley’s Hospital for Children.
