Lionels in the Library

A group of Lionel Collectors Club of America (LCCA) members in central Arkansas designed, built, and operated a 12'x14' Lionel layout as a holiday attraction in the Exhibit Hall of Laman Library in North Little Rock, AR. The train layout and displays were open to the public from December 15-30, 2010 during regular library hours. LCCA provided a Lionel “Scout” train set as a free raffle prize to a lucky family.

Led by Mike Mottler (RM 12394), the team of volunteers included LCCA members Robert Lewis, Craig Gerard, Michelle Snyder, Bill Albright, and other non-club hobbyists/helpers. They operated the hands-on layout daily for families and kids. Because of effective media coverage arranged by the library’s PR office, more than 2,000 visitors stopped by to enjoy the trains, action accessories, lighted Dept 56 buildings, and 1:43 scale autos.
