LCCA Announces a Special Edition Texas Special Walking Brakeman Car! Shipping expected in 2022, this operating car is the newest addition to the successful LCCA Texas Special Train. It is the first operating car in the series. This Walking brakeman has been assigned Lionel part number 2101540.
The Texas Special has been an LCCA project for some time, since the introduction of its 2011 Convention car celebrating the Dallas convention. That car was an immediate sellout and resulted in the Lou Caponi designed "Texas Tommy" die cast switcher and calf. As you recall, Texas Tommy came with the LCCA Texas Special Mint car. Over the years, what started out as a single convention car has evolved into a beautiful, highly collectable and expanding train set. Whether you have only one, multiple or even every car in this series, the Texas Special Walking Brakeman with its silver die cast trucks will be a wonderful and colorful addition to any roster.
Our first walking brakeman was offered back in 2014 to celebrate the joining of the LCCA with the Lionel Railroader Club. That car was offered with the logos and pin designs of both clubs. A short video is provided
