LCCA To Conduct Live Ham Radio Broadcast on 7-21-14 Live Steam Excursion Aboard the NKP 765. Lionel Collectors Club of America (LCCA) invite members and guests who are also Ham Radio operators to participate in a special event operating aboard the July 21, 2014 NKP 765 live steam train excursion during our 44th Annual Convention in Indianapolis IN. While we are traveling under steam you may contact Ed Richter (WB8BHL). Ed has made arrangements to present a live Ham Radio broadcast from this moving train during our Monday July 21 train excursion. This will be the first use of Ham Radio by LCCA as we reach out to attract new members, promote the club, have an international presence and most of all share in the fun!
LCCA will be on 2 meters and 70 centimeters using repeaters on the route, and on IRLP and Echo Link. For more information, contact Ed Richter (LCCA RM# 13075) at erichter@safes.com to be included on an e-mail list of those interested in “working” on a railroad mobile station. Ed will send QSL cards to those who contact him during this train run.
